In a financial institution, process analysts must manually validate a large number of case statuses. This process is slow and tedious, requiring analysts to access a query application to obtain the necessary information. Additionally, the manual process is error-prone. Analysts may make mistakes when entering data or interpreting information.

Solution

To address this issue, an automated solution was developed for the case status validation process. This solution consists of the following steps:

  • Automatically access the query application.
  • Extract data from the input file containing the case IDs to be validated.
  • Generate automatic navigations on the query page to validate the cases.
  • Generate an output structure to control the dates of the query files on a monthly basis.
  • Search for keywords in the case observations to relate them to a status.

The automated solution navigates the query application to obtain the necessary information. Then, the solution uses this information to validate the cases and generate the output structure.

Results

The automated solution has allowed:

  • Improve the query performance of records by 50%.
  • Increase the daily query capacity by 25%.
  • Generate observations for each search.

In total, the automated solution has processed +2,700 cases.
